Emotional Support Chicken

In just two hours, we'll walk through every skill this project uses so nothing feels intimidating when you sit down to knit solo.
You'll get comfortable with:
Wrap & turn short-row shaping — the technique that gives the chicken her rounded body, sculpted tail, and expressive head
Two-color striping
Mid-project cast-ons
Shaping with increases and decreases
Finishing techniques including picking up stitches and basic seaming.
What to Bring:
US 7 / 4.5mm knitting needles
Worsted weight yarn in your chosen Color A (main body) and Color B (stripe)
Crochet hook
Removable stitch markers (at least four)
A tapestry needle
Scissors
Homework:
Ensure that you have chosen your color combination and your yarn is wound prior to class. Cast on 19 stiches in your main color (which will be most of your chicken). While we may not have time in class, if you are interested in learning how to pick up stitches along an edge and/or how to seam using a crochet hook, you will need to complete the following:
To learn to seam:
With worsted weight waste yarn, cast on 20 stiches and knit every row for 20 rows. Create a second swatch using the same method for seaming. To learn to pick up stiches: With worsted weight waste yarn, cast on 20 stiches and knit every row for 10 rows.
To learn to pick up stiches:
With worsted weight waste yarn, cast on 20 stiches and knit
